2. Take a Stroll Through the Lawrence University Campus
If you are looking for something low-key, and want to spend some time outdoors, the Lawrence
University Campus makes for a beautiful walk. With unique architecture, art displays, and scenic
walkways, this is a free and relaxing alternative to shopping and dining. Make sure to walk
around the back of the campus to see the scenic view of the Fox River. The Lawrence Memorial
Chapel, across College Ave from the campus, is also a pretty place to stop and take a look
3. Take the Kids to the Building for Kids Children’s Museum
If you’re looking for something to do with the little ones, you have to spend a couple hours at the
Building for Kids Children’s Museum. Opened in 1991, and located one block east of the
CopperLeaf, the Building for Kids seeks to empower children, engage parents and energize
communities. With 14 different exhibits, there is tons for kids of any age to play on, explore and
learn from. They also have various events occurring throughout the year, which you can find on
their events calendar.
4. Enjoy Dinner and Cocktails at Rye Restaurant and Lounge
The Rye Restaurant and lounge is located directly adjacent to the CopperLeaf Hotel. Featuring a
refined comfort menu that changes with the seasons, and a rustic urban setting, this is one of
the most unique dining experiences in Appleton. If you want to try a delicious new cocktail, take
a look through their artisan cocktail menu, using homemade simple syrups and premium
ingredients. The food is local and organic whenever possible, and the menu features a wide
variety of items. Your taste buds will appreciate you took the time to dine at the Rye.
5. Visit the Trout Museum of Art
The Trout Museum of Art is also located on College Avenue. The museum has a broad mix of
over 150 pieces of art, ranging from paintings to sculptures and decorative objects. The
collection is a result of 40 years of procuring unique art pieces by Dr. Monroe E. and Sandra

visit. If you walk east down College Avenue, there are countless shops offering everything from

checking out the various shops along College Avenue. It is truly one of the best boutique
shopping areas in the Fox Valley.
7. Get Pampered at Spa BenMarNico’s
If you’re looking for a place to simply relax and be pampered, there’s no better place than Spa

8. Learn Some Fox Valley History at the History Museum at the Castle
This unique little museum is just across the street from Lawrence University on College Avenue.
The museum is filled with archival materials and artifacts related to the history of the Lower Fox
River Valley and Outagamie County. Visitors can also learn about famous local figures such as
Harry Houdini. Just being in the building is an experience in itself, as the museum is housed

Avenue Jewelers is located right on College Avenue and has some of the most beautiful and timeless pieces around. They do more than just jewelry, though. You can have your coin collection appraised, and even learn about different diamond cuts, different setting methods, and more. You can even learn about precious metals, gemstones and even the history of jewelry.
